The View Down Horse Guards Parade

Robe. The old Institute erected in 1868 at a cost of over 1,000 pounds. It is still attached to the local libirary service.

Forbes. The Town Hall facing Victoria Squ. Gold royalties permitted a grand structure. The part with the corner tower finished in 1891. The left hand part was the first Town Hall about 1870 when Forbes became a municipality.

Forbes. ANZ Bank.This was built in Italianate style with a tower in 1892. The corbels below the roof line indicate it originally had a slate roof which needed these supports.

Forbes. It was very unsual in 1892 for an Australian country town to have a shopping arcade. This one was built in 1892.
