St Andrews Presbyterian Church Strathalbyn. Main church built in 1848.Transept 1857. Tower 1869. Now the Uniting Church.

St Andrew's uniting church

Britannia Foundry in Strathalbyn founded in 1869. Two storey House however was built in 1855 for William Rowe. Foundry ceased operations in 1878.

Argus House Strathalbyn . Built in 1868 as a two storey residence and shop. The Southern Argus newspaper was printed here from 1872 to 1948.

Strathalbyn. Built 1860s as Henry Bonnars school. A state school from 1875 to 1880 when new school built. Purchased as Catholic Church 1880. Became Catholic church hall 1914 when new Strathalbyn Catholic church built.

Strathalbyn. High Street. Harringtons old store known as London House. Now an antiques shop. built 1867 with stables at rear for Cobb and Co coaches.

Albyn Street Strathalbyn. Commerical premises with triangular pediment across roof line balustrade. Probably built in 1870s.

Strathalbyn School

Strathalbyn Railway Station built 1883 when the line from Victor Harbor to Strathalbyn was extended to Mt Barker Junction and Adelaide. At that time the 1867 horse tram line was converted to broad guage for steam engines.

Coleman's mill store building opposite the flour mill in Strathalbyn South Australia. Nice facade. No windows on the sides. Built in 1864 in blue stone with brick quoins. Almost looks like a church.

Strathalbyn High School. Began in February 1913 with 34 students. This purpose built high school opened 4 May 1926 by the Education Minister Mr Hill. Now senior campus of East Fleurieu School.

Strathalbyn Post Office was buit in Revial Georgian style in 1911. Note the GR on the facade for King George Fifth of England who was only ascended the crown in 1910.

The blue stone Gas Works in Strathalbyn. It lit the street lamps from the 1870 until 1917 when electricity took over. It has a domed shape typical of gas works.
